Position Overview
As a Software Asset Management trainer, you will be responsible for delivering training programs, documenting standard operating procedures (SOP), and providing guidance on software asset management practices. In this role, you will educate internal teams and clients, ensuring they understand the importance of software asset management and how to implement best practices. Your expertise will help optimize software usage, ensure compliance, and enhance the overall effectiveness of software asset management strategies within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Software Asset Inventory: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of software licenses, versions, and deployments throughout the organisation.
- License Compliance: Ensure adherence to software licensing agreements, monitor license usage, and take necessary measures to address any non-compliance issues.
- License Optimization: Analyse software usage patterns, identify opportunities for optimization, and implement strategies to optimize license allocation and reduce costs (ex: co-terming agreements).
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain effective relationships with software vendors, negotiate licensing agreements, and handle license renewals and audits.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare software asset-related reports and documentation, such as license entitlements, deployments, usage, and compliance status.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve software asset management processes, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Training and Education: Provide guidance and training on software usage policies, license compliance, and industry best practises to internal employees, end-users, and stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate software asset management risks, such as security vulnerabilities, unauthorised software usage, and potential legal implications.
What you will bring to the team:
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in the field of Software Asset Management.
• Possesses experience of working on at least one segment of the SAM life cycle but have an understanding around entire SAM life cycle.
• Experience in configuration management, asset life-cycle management, process improvement and compliance and understanding of Software contract terms, and End-User License Agreements (EULA).
• In-depth knowledge of software licensing models, agreements, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with SAM tools and support ticketing systems – Flexera, Ariba, Service Now, SAMPRO.
• Strong data analysis and manipulation skills including strong MS Excel knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving with excellent verbal and written communication skills (English language).
• Working knowledge of current IT technologies and full understanding of industry practices.
• Expertise in managing software asset inventory and accurately tracking software licenses, versions, and deployments.
• Vendor management skills, such as negotiation of licensing agreements and handling license renewals and audits.
• Ability to ensure compliance with licensing agreements and monitor license usage.
• Analytical skills to optimize software license allocation and reduce costs.
• Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders and software vendors.
• Documentation and reporting capabilities for accurate tracking of software assets and compliance status.
• Process improvement mindset to enhance software asset management processes and policies.
• Knowledge of risk management principles related to software asset management.
• Familiarity with industry trends, best practices, and software asset management tools.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
